Commercial construction definition

Commercial construction means the act of building any structure, or that part of any structure, that is not used as a home, residence or sleeping place by one or more persons main- taining a common household to the exclusion of all others.
Commercial construction means any construction for which a permit is required by City Ordinance that takes place on a property that is not used for a One- or Two-Family residence. This includes, but is not limited to properties used for multi-family residential (3 or more dwelling units), places of religious worship, educational, retail, commercial, and industrial uses.
Commercial construction means the construction, remodeling or upfitting of a building to be used for commercial purposes, such as industrial facilities, office buildings, shopping centers, and sports complexes and specifically excluding residential buildings (single- or multi-family), hotels, and buildings associated with or appurtenant to residential buildings or hotels. The limited Defects Warranty will remain in effect until 30 years after the date the Product is purchased by the Purchaser for purposes of installation; the limited Exposure Warranty will remain in effect until 5 years after the date the Product is purchased by the Purchaser for purposes of installation. This limited warranty may not be transferred or assigned to any other person or entity, including without limitation, any subsequent purchaser of the Product or owner of the Commercial Construction. WARRANTY CONDITIONS This limited warranty applies only if the following conditions are met: • Design and installation methods are in accordance with applicable building codes and applicable written recommendations and specifications published by Seller; • The Product has been properly handled and stored at all times according to standard building practices, and has not been abused or used for an improper application; • The problem with the Product is not due to structural movement of the building; movement in, failure of or defects in materials to which the Product is attached or which are attached to it; causes other than normal weather and use conditions, such as near xxxx or higher force winds, tornadoes, hail storms, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes or falling (impact of) objects or any other acts of God or nature; immersion in water, or sustained pooling or cascading of water; or fire, vandalism, misuse or abuse or any other cause beyond Seller’s control; and • The•Commercial Construction in which the Product is installed, including but not limited to the tile and grout for which the Product serves as a substrate, is maintained with reasonable care. • This warranty applies to the following products: PermaBASE® Cement Board, PermaBASE PLUS® Cement Board, PermaBASE WPTM Waterproof Cement Board.

  • GENERAL AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT means the instructions to Tenderer and General and special conditions of contract pertaining to the work for which above tenders have been called for.

  • Start of construction means the date the development permit was issued, provided the actual start of construction, repair, reconstruction, or improvement was within 180 days of the permit date. The actual start means the first placement of permanent construction of the structure such as the pouring of slabs or footings, installation of piles, construction of columns, or any work beyond the stage of excavation, and includes the placement of a manufactured home on a foundation. (Permanent construction does not include initial land preparation, such as clearing, grading and filling; nor does it include the installation of streets and/or walkways; nor does it include excavation for a basement, footings, piers or foundations or the erection of temporary forms; nor does it include the installation on the property of buildings appurtenant to the permitted structure, such as garages or sheds not occupied as dwelling units or part of the main structure. (NOTE: accessory structures are NOT exempt from any ordinance requirements) For a substantial improvement, the actual start of construction means the first alteration of any wall, ceiling, floor, or other structural part of a building, whether or not that alteration affects the external dimensions of the building.

  • Construction Phase means that Phase of the Project which shall commence after the Authority provides the Trade Contractor with written Notice to Proceed with the Construction Phase.

  • Direct Construction Cost means the sum of the amounts that the Construction Manager actually and necessarily incurs for General Conditions Costs, Cost of the Work and Construction Manager’s Contingency during the Construction Phase as allowed by this Agreement. Direct Construction Cost does not include Pre-Construction Phase Fees or Construction Phase Fees.

  • Interconnection Construction Service Agreement means the agreement entered into by an Interconnection Customer, Interconnected Transmission Owner and the Transmission Provider pursuant to Tariff, Part VI, Subpart B and in the form set forth in Tariff, Attachment P, relating to construction of Attachment Facilities, Network Upgrades, and/or Local Upgrades and coordination of the construction and interconnection of an associated Customer Facility. A separate Interconnection Construction Service Agreement will be executed with each Transmission Owner that is responsible for construction of any Attachment Facilities, Network Upgrades, or Local Upgrades associated with interconnection of a Customer Facility. Interconnection Customer:

  • Construction Plant means appliances, machinery with necessary supply to up keep and maintenance of the works or temporary works but dose not include materials or other things intended to form part of the permanent work.

  • Land disturbing construction activity means any man-made alteration of the land surface resulting in a change in the topography or existing vegetative or non-vegetative soil cover, that may result in runoff and lead to an increase in soil erosion and movement of sediment into waters of the state. Land disturbing construction activity includes clearing and grubbing, demolition, excavating, pit trench dewatering, filling and grading activities.

  • Construction project means the same as that term is defined in Section 38-1a-102.
