Contingency Event definition

Contingency Event means an event affecting the power system which AEMO expects would be likely to involve the failure or removal from operational service of one or more generating units and/or transmission elements.
Contingency Event means an event or circumstance that MDL believes, acting as a Reasonable and Prudent Operator, has detrimentally affected Transmission Services or depleted Line Pack to an unacceptable level, or could do so, and includes an Emergency.
Contingency Event means an event affecting the power system which NEMMCO expects would be likely to involve the failure or removal from operational service of a generating unit or transmission element.

  • Each Responsible Entity, following a Reportable Balancing Contingency Event, shall restore its Contingency Reserve to at least its Most Severe Single Contingency, before the end of the Contingency Reserve Restoration Period, but any Balancing Contingency Event that occurs before the end of a Contingency Reserve Restoration Period resets the beginning of the Contingency Event Recovery Period.

More Definitions of Contingency Event

Contingency Event means the unexpected failure of a single component or multiple components connected to the transmission system;
Contingency Event means that the Issuer or CSG has given a Contingency Event Notice. No such Contingency Event Notice shall be given, and no Contingency Event Conversion shall therefore occur, if, notwithstanding the CET1 Ratio being below the Threshold Ratio as contemplated pursuant to the definition of Contingency Event Notice, the Regulator, at the request of CSG, has agreed on or prior to the publication of the relevant Quarterly Financial Report that a Contingency Event Conversion shall not occur because it is satisfied that actions, circumstances or events have had, or imminently will have, the effect of restoring the CET1 Ratio to a level above the Threshold Ratio that the Regulator and CSG deem, in their absolute discretion, to be adequate at such time.
Contingency Event means any event that disrupts or has the potential to disrupt the normal exchange and settlement of transactions in KEPSS. Five main potential types of Contingency Event are envisaged:
