An Emergency. Medical Condition is a medical condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity, including severe pain, such that a prudent layperson, who possesses an average knowledge of health and medicine, could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in: (a) placing the health of the individual in serious jeopardy, (b) serious impairment to bodily functions, or (c) serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. Please answer questions and follow instructions carefully. You should request to be taken to the hospital, tell the ambulance company that you are a LIFE participant, and present your LIFE card to the emergency room staff. Please notify LIFE staff as soon as possible if you have used the 911 emergency services.
An Emergency. Hire is a short-term replacement position. Depending on the program or service, the position will be for a maximum of thirty (30) days or until the end of the current academic semester.

Financial Manager appointed to the District under the Local government and School District Fiscal Accountability Act may reject, modify, or terminate this collective bargaining agreement as provided in Local Government and School District Fiscal Accountability Act. This clause is included in this Agreement because it is legally required by State Law. The parties did not agree to this provision. By signing this Agreement, the Union does not agree or acknowledge that this provision is binding either on the Union or on the Employer. The Union reserves all rights to assert that this clause in unenforceable. ARTICLE XXIII - PUBLIC SCHOOL ACADEMIES, ANNEXATION, CONSOLIDATION OR OTHER REORGANIZATION OF THE DISTRICT
An Emergency. Manager appointed under the Local Government and School District Fiscal Accountability Act may reject, modify, or terminate provisions of this collective bargaining agreement as provided in the Local Government and School District Fiscal Accountability Act.
An Emergency. (Casual) Teacher is a registered teacher who is appointed on an ad hoc basis for up to and including 15 consecutive school days. The employer will pay an emergency (casual) teacher not less than $36.10 per hour, provided that the minimum engagement is for not less than 2 hrs on any one day. Where the emergency (casual) teacher is engaged for one full day the maximum payment for that say is $216.50.
An Emergency. Financial Manager appointed under the Local Government and School District Fiscal Accountability Act shall have the authority to reject, modify, or terminate the collective bargaining agreement as provided in the Local Government and School District Accountability Act. In the event that Emergency Financial Manager provision is declared unlawful, it will be stricken from this agreement.
An Emergency. Medical Condition is a life-threatening illness or injury. If not treated immediately, the illness or injury could result in serious and/or permanent damage to your health. Examples of a medical emergency can include but are not limited to: • Chest pain/symptoms of a heart attack • Unexpected or sudden loss of consciousness • Choking • Severe difficulty breathing • Symptoms of a stroke • Severe bleeding • Serious injury from a fall Please answer questions and follow instructions carefully. An Emergency Medical Condition is a medical or mental health Condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) that a prudent layperson, who possesses an average knowledge of health and medicine, could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in the following:
4.6.1.2.1 Placing the physical or mental health of the individual (or, with respect to a pregnant woman, the health of the woman or her unborn child) in serious jeopardy;
4.6.1.2.2 Serious impairment to bodily functions;
4.6.1.2.3 Serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part;
4.6.1.2.4 Serious harm to self or others due to an alcohol or drug abuse emergency;
4.6.1.2.5 Injury to self or bodily harm to others; or
4.6.1.2.6 With respect to a pregnant woman having contractions: (i) that there is adequate time to effect a safe transfer to another hospital before delivery, or (ii) that transfer may pose a threat to the health or safety of the woman or the unborn child.
