Custody Patient definition

Custody Patient means any of the following: a. An Orange County Jail or Orange County Probation Department inmate referred to CONTRACTOR by any CHS or BHS staff member or Deputy. b. A minor brought to CONTRACTOR, for treatment, who is under the care and custody of the Orange County Probation Department pursuant to, or pending the filing of, a petition under the Welfare and Institutions Code.
Custody Patient means any of the following: 5 1. An Orange County Jail inmate referred to CONTRACTOR for treatment by any CHS 6 Program Health Professional or Orange County Deputy. 7 2. A person brought to CONTRACTOR for treatment by an Orange County Deputy who has 8 already been booked into the Orange County Jail. 9 3. A person brought to CONTRACTOR’s emergency department by an Orange County 10 Deputy for medical clearance prior to booking after being deferred directly from the COUNTY’s Intake 11 and Release Center. 12 4. A minor, brought to CONTRACTOR for treatment, who is under the care and custody of 13 the Orange County Probation Department pursuant to, or pending the filing of, a petition under the 14 Welfare and Institutions Code. 15 5. Any requirement by this Agreement for the provision of services to Custody Patients shall 16 also be deemed to be a requirement to provide services to infants, only until discharge, born to any 17 person identified in Subparagraphs 1. through 4. above. Such infants shall be designated as “Newborns” 18 for the purposes of this Agreement. 19 6. It is understood by the parties that Custody Patients excludes those persons, who, at the 20 time of service, are escorted by local/city law enforcement (non-county custody personnel), housed or 21 subsequently booked into a city jail.

  • If Custody Patient does not have IMO and is refusing psychiatric intervention through routine means, psychiatrist/CONTRACTOR must notify the EASS manager no later than five (5) business days after initial psychiatric evaluation.

  • CONTRACTOR shall maintain with respect to each Custody Patient receiving DDR Services a standard physician medical record as required by Sections 70747 through and including 70751 of the California Code of Regulations, as they exist now or may hereafter be amended, and other records related to the services rendered, the medical necessity of the service, and the quality of the care provided.

  • Hospice patient s family" means a hospice patient's immediate family members, including a spouse, brother, sister, child, or parent, and any other relative or individual who has significant personal ties to the patient and who is designated as a member of the patient's family by mutual agreement of the patient, the relative or individual, and the patient's interdisciplinary team.

  • Direct Patient Care means the provision of health care services provided directly to individuals being treated for or suspected of having physical or mental illnesses. Direct patient care includes both, face-to-face and telehealth-based preventative care and first-line supervision.

  • Patient means a person who is undergoing medical or other treatment as an in-patient in any hospital or similar institution;

  • Day Patient means an Insured Person receiving Medical Services or treatments given in a medical clinic, day case procedure centre or Hospital where the Insured Person is not in Confinement.

  • In-patient means a person admitted to a hospital as a resident or bed- patient and who is provided at least one day's room and board by the hospital.

  • Routine patient care costs means Covered Medical Expenses which are typically provided absent a clinical trial and not otherwise excluded under the Policy. Routine patient care costs do not include:

  • Nonprescription medication means a drug or medication authorized pursuant to federal or state law for general distribution and use without a prescription in the treatment of human disease, ailments, or injuries.

  • Outpatient means a person who is receiving care other than on an inpatient basis, such as: • in a provider’s office; • in an ambulatory surgical center or facility; • in an emergency room; or • in a clinic. .

  • Medication means any drug, chemical, compound, suspension, or preparation in suitable form for use as a curative or remedial substance taken either internally or externally by any person.

  • Physical therapist assistant means an individual who is licensed/certified by a state and who assists the physical therapist in selected components of physical therapy.

  • In Patient Care means treatment for which the insured person has to stay in a hospital for more than 24 hours for a covered event.

  • Substance abuse treatment means outpatient or inpatient services or participation in Alcoholics Anonymous or a similar program.

  • Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.

  • Patients means both Public Patients and the Private Patients (referred by private doctors/private hospitals);

  • Self-Administration of Medication means the individual manages and takes his or her own medication, identifies his or her medication and the times and methods of administration, places the medication internally in or externally on his or her own body without staff assistance upon written order of a physician, and safely maintains the medication without supervision.

  • Centralized prescription processing means the processing by a pharmacy of a request from another pharmacy to fill or refill a prescription drug order or to perform processing functions such as dispensing, drug utilization review, claims adjudication, refill authorizations, and therapeutic interventions.

  • Outpatient status means, with respect to a covered servicemember who is a current member of the Armed Forces, the status of a member of the Armed Forces assigned to:

  • Patient Data means any electronic data, information or material about a Patient entered into the Software.

  • Medical supplies means items for medical use that are suitable for use in a health care facility or in the home and that are disposable or semi-disposable and are non-reusable.

  • Medical marijuana waste or "waste" means unused,

  • Medical service means any medical treatment or any medical, surgical, diagnostic, chiropractic, dental, hospital, nursing, ambulance, and other related services, and drugs, medicine, crutches and prosthetic appliances, braces and supports, and, where necessary, physical restorative services.

  • Medical services means Medically Necessary services, including, as the context requires, Confinement, treatments, procedures, tests, examinations or other related services for the investigation or treatment of a Disability.

  • Medical marijuana concentrate means a specific subset of Medical Marijuana that was produced by extracting cannabinoids from Medical Marijuana. Categories of Medical Marijuana Concentrate include Water-Based Medical Marijuana Concentrate, Food-Based Medical Marijuana Concentrate and Solvent-Based Medical Marijuana Concentrate.

  • Assisted outpatient treatment or "AOT" means the categories of outpatient services ordered by the court under section 468 or 469a. Assisted outpatient treatment may include a case management plan and case management services to provide care coordination under the supervision of a psychiatrist and developed in accordance with person-centered planning under section 712. Assisted outpatient treatment may also include 1 or more of the following categories of services: medication; periodic blood tests or urinalysis to determine compliance with prescribed medications; individual or group therapy; day or partial day programming activities; vocational, educational, or self-help training or activities; assertive community treatment team services; alcohol or substance use disorder treatment and counseling and periodic tests for the presence of alcohol or illegal drugs for an individual with a history of alcohol abuse or substance use disorder; supervision of living arrangements; and any other services within a local or unified services plan developed under this act that are prescribed to treat the individual's mental illness and to assist the individual in living and functioning in the community or to attempt to prevent a relapse or deterioration that may reasonably be predicted to result in suicide, the need for hospitalization, or serious violent behavior. The medical review and direction included in an assisted outpatient treatment plan shall be provided under the supervision of a psychiatrist.
