Environmental and Social Impact Assessment definition

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment or “ESIA” means a site-specific report, to be prepared in accordance with the parameters laid down in the ESMF (as hereinafter defined) and acceptable to the Association, identifying and assessing the potential environmental and social impacts of the activities to be undertaken for the Project, evaluating alternatives, and designing appropriate mitigation, management, and monitoring measures.
Environmental and Social Impact Assessment means an analytical process that systematically examines the likely environmental and social impacts of a proposed project, evaluates alternatives and designs appropriate mitigation, management and monitoring measures, taking into account interrelated socio-economic, cultural and human health impacts, both beneficial and adverse;
Environmental and Social Impact Assessment or “ESIA” means the environmental and social impact assessment for the Project prepared by the Recipient and set forth in the document entitled “Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for Proposed Renovation and Equipping of Health Facilities in Uganda” dated April 13, 2010.

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment means the Recipient’s assessment, dated March 7, 2008, agreed with the Association and setting out the potential adverse environmental and social impact of the Project and measures for the offsetting, reduction, or mitigation of such impact, as the same may be modified from time to time with the concurrence of the Association, and such term includes any schedules to said Assessment, including the Environmental and Social Management Plan (as hereinafter defined), the Monitoring Plan (as hereinafter defined), and the Pesticides Management and Monitoring Plan (as hereinafter defined).
Environmental and Social Impact Assessment or “ESIA” means a Subproject- specific environmental and social impact assessment, acceptable to the Association, giving details of the status of the natural and social environment, and potential risks and adverse impacts thereto, which are specific to the Subproject, along with proposed mitigation measures.
