Getting Started. Proper pre-game preparation is very important in socring a game courtside. The entire crew should arrive at the game well before tip-off. Follow this pre- game checklist: -Set up teams, rosters, and game information -Check all hardware connections -Test the printer (print an old box score and play-by-play) -Print out lineups; check player names, numbers, and spellings -Get starters by position -Make any required player name/number changes, key in starters and officials. Clock management STATCREW uses a “running clock” that is managed by the inputter with the Keep this points in mind about the clock: -The clock begins to “count down” when the SPACEBAR is pressed. -The SPACEBAR toggles the clock off and on. -The time remaining, which is always displayed at the top of the GAMETIME SCORING screen, can be adjusted by pressing the F7 key. A window will appear in the center of the screen, prompting you to enter a new time. This can be done without having to enter leading zeroes and the colon (:) - for example, if the new time should be “01:45”, simply enter “145” and press ENTER. -Plays can be entered with the clock running or stopped. However, most of the function keys will not work while the clock is running, ex cept F10 (used to void a partially entered play). Entering plays When the game begins, simply press the SPACEBAR to start the clock, and then press H or V to indicate which team has the ball. The team name will be highlighted for the team with possession at any given time. The “H” and “V” keys are used to track possession. Current players in the game are indicated on the screen with an asterisk (*) between their number and name. If a team does not have five players in the game, there will be a message directly above the team name on the screen (such as “6 PLAYERS IN THE GAME”). Plays can be entered with the clock running or stopped. When the action code for a play is pressed, the play information will appear on the last line of the screen. This information will change as the play is completed. Note that the clock time is captured when the initial action code is pressed, and will stay with that play unless changed in the play editor. Once a play has been completed, the bottom line of the screen will be erased. This allows you to know at a glance if you have completed a play or not. As plays are entered, they are stored in volatile RAM until the auto-save limit has been reached. At that time, the stored plays are “saved” to your hard disk, and the auto-sa...
