Health Care Continuation definition

Health Care Continuation means that if you are participating in the Company’s group health plan immediately prior to the date of your termination, then subject to your election and eligibility for benefits under the law known as COBRA, and any law that is the successor to COBRA, the Company shall continue to pay the employer portion of your health benefits until the earlier of the end of the Salary Continuation Period and the date you become re-employed or otherwise ineligible for COBRA.

Health Care Continuation means that if the Participant is participating in the Company’s group health plan immediately prior to the Termination Date, then subject to timely election and eligibility for benefits under the law known as COBRA, and any law that is the successor to COBRA, the Company shall continue to pay the employer portion of the Participant’s health benefits until the earlier of the end of the Medical Period and the date the Participant becomes re- employed or otherwise ineligible for COBRA. With respect to a Participant who is employed outside of the United States, such Participant will be eligible to continue to receive medical and dental insurance coverage during the Medical Period at the same level of coverage as on the date of the Participant’s termination of employment, to the extent available under the plans and consistent with applicable law.Each Participant shall be required to notify the Company immediately if the Participant becomes covered by a group health plan of a subsequent employer. No Participant shall be entitled to receive cash or other consideration in lieu of coverage, except as determined by the Administrator. At the end of the Medical Period, the Participant shall no longer have a right to receive contributions towards continued health plan coverage, 7 which shall be continued only to the extent required by applicable law and only to the extent that Participant continues to timely pay the full amount required for continuation of health plan coverage.

Examples of Health Care Continuation in a sentence

  • The COBRA health care continuation coverage period under Section 4980B of the Code shall begin at the end of the Health Care Continuation Period.
