Heritage sites definition

Heritage sites means areas important from the standpoint of biological diversity with respect to its conservation and sustainable use, notified under the present Act by the State Government;
Heritage sites means the whole of the area comprising the sites specified in the schedule but excluding the area referred to as protected area under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 (Central Act 24 of 1958);
Heritage sites means works of man or the combined works ofnature and man, and areas including archaeological sites which are of outstanding universal value from the historical, aesthetic, ethnological or anthropological point of view. The definition incorporates below categories:

Heritage sites means works of man or the combined works of nature and man, and areas including archaeological sites, other than centrally protected sites and privately owned sites, which are of outstanding universal value from the historical, aesthetic, ethnological or anthropological point of view and identified under Adopt a Heritage Project by Oversight and Vision Committee.

  • heritage building means a Building designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.18, or any successor legislation, or a Building designated under Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act,R.S.O. 1990, c.   • Site means the place or places where the permanent Works are to be carried out including workshops where the same is being prepared.
