Hospital indemnity definition

Hospital indemnity means, for the purposes of this regulation, a policy that provides a stated daily, weekly or monthly payment while the insured is "hospitalized" regardless of expenses incurred and regardless of whether or not other insurance is in force. Hospital Indemnity policies cannot include medical expense, wellness benefits or well-baby care. If additional benefits are provided they must be fully disclosed and properly labeled.
