Witness in Court. When an employee is called as a witness in a private case, he is not paid unless the call arises from his City employment or as a result of a subpoena issued by the Prosecutor's office or the Police Division for a work related activity (e.g., Employee observed an accident while on the job; testifying from official records). Witness fees must be turned into the department for deposit with the City Treasurer if the employee is paid his regular salary.

Witness in Court. Employees who are subpoenaed to testify in a legal proceeding shall receive full salary less the amount they receive from the court for the period they are absent from duty. Presentation of a certified statement from the Clerk of the Court indicating the amount of time spent in court is required.
Witness in Court. If an employee is required to be a witness in court as a result of a case with the City of Cincinnati, or because he/she witnessed an event while working for the City of Cincinnati, an employee will be paid their regular salary. Witness in Court. An employee shall be entitled to time off with pay and all fringe benefits for that period of time when obligated to attend any court proceedings as a witness during regular hours of employment; the employee shall account to the City for any witness fee received as a witness. An employee shall not be entitled to a witness fee under any circumstances where called as a witness for the City, but shall be paid straight time wages for time spent in attendance as a City witness during regular working hours and time and one-half (1-1/2) at other times (cross reference, Section 6:6).
Witness in Court. An employee requested or subpoenaed to appear in court as a witness shall be covered by the same provisions that apply to jury duty. Employees subpoenaed to appear in court as a witness as a direct result of work performed for a second Employer shall not receive time off with pay from Xxxxxxx County.
