Limited Term. EMPLOYEE shall mean an employee employed in a limited-term position except where a regular position is converted to a limited-term position, the incumbent shall retain his or her former status. As an exception to this definition, a limited-term employee may also be used to fill a regular position when the incumbent employee is on Official Leave of Absence.
Limited Term means an employee who is engaged as either "full-time" or "part- time" and whose period of employment is not expected to exceed six months and such period shall be notified in writing and include the expected completion date of the term of employment at the time of engagement. Provided that the initial period of employment may be extended by agreement between the employer and employee and the appropriate union notified. If, due to circumstances beyond the control of the employer, it becomes necessary to shorten the notice period of employment, the employer shall be entitled to do so by giving the notice prescribed in paragraph (f) of subclause (1) of this clause.
