Merit Order definition

Merit Order means an order for ranking available Production Facilities which order: (1) shall have as its aim the optimising of combined Total System and Desalinated water Production Capacity economy, security, stability and reliability; (2) shall give due consideration to incremental power purchase costs, incremental Transmission losses, Total System technical constraints and other technical and operational considerations; and (3) shall otherwise be determined by each Licensed Transmission System Operator in accordance with its Transmission Licence in relation to Production Facilities Connected to its System;
Merit Order means the priority order of a set of demand bids or supply offers that is determined on the basis of the offered price and, this being equal, on the basis of other reference parameters as defined herein;
Merit Order means an order for ranking available Generation Units as shall be prescribed in the Grid Code and which order shall have as its aim the promotion of Renewable Energy and the optimising of the economy, security, stability and reliability of the Grid System of Bermuda and shall take fully into account cost considerations, and such order shall comply with the requirements of section 20(3) of the EA.

More Definitions of Merit Order

Merit Order means ranking in order of which a generation plant should be used, based on ascending order of price together with amounts of electricity that will be generated;
