Pain management program definition

Pain management program means a program using interdisciplinary teams providing coordinated, goal- oriented services to a member who has chronic pain that significantly interferes with physical, psychosocial, and vocational functioning, for the purpose of reducing pain, improving function, and decreasing dependence on the health care system. A pain management program must be individualized and provide physical rehabilitation, education on pain, relaxation training, and medical evaluation. Physician means a licensed medical practitioner who is practicing within the scope of his or her licensed authority in treating a bodily injury or sickness and is required to be covered by state law which includes chiropractors, podiatrists, and osteopaths. A physician does NOT include someone who is related to a covered person by blood, marriage or adoption or who is normally a member of the covered person's household. Post-service claim means any claim for benefits for medical care or treatment that is not a pre-service claim.

  • Virginia Stormwater Management Program or “VSMP” means a program approved by the State Board after September 13, 2011, that has been established by a locality to manage the quality and quantity of runoff resulting from land-disturbing activities and shall include such items as local ordinances, rules, permit requirements, annual standards and specifications, policies and guidelines, technical materials, and requirements for plan review, inspection, enforcement, where authorized in this article, and evaluation consistent with the requirements of this article and associated regulations.
