Period of Confinement definition

Period of Confinement means a continuous, Medically Necessary period of time during which the Person Covered is confined to a Licensed Hospital as an inpatient. Two (2) or more periods of confinement due to the same or related causes, as determined by Us, are considered to be one (1) Period of Confinement, unless a period of more than thirty (30) days falls between the date of discharge of the earlier confinement and the date of admission of the following period of confinement;
Period of Confinement means a period of consecutive "days of confinement" as an "inpatient" for all injuries caused by the same "accident". However successive confinements as an "inpatient" for all "accidental injuries" caused by the same "accident" are considered to be part of the same "period of confinement", unless the discharge date for the prior confinement is separated from the admission date for the next confinement by at least sixty (60) days.
Period of Confinement means one or more Confinements in a Hospital for the same or related causes. If Confinements for the same or related causes are separated by 90 days or more, the second Confinement will be considered a new Period of Confinement with applicable benefits restored.

Examples of Period of Confinement in a sentence

  • The Period of Confinement must be Medically Necessary and recommended by a Physician.

  • The Period of Confinement must begin while the person is covered by this benefit.

  • This benefit is limited to 15 days per Period of Confinement and is also payable for confinement in a Hospital Intensive Care Unit after exhaustion of benefits payable under the Hospital Intensive Care Unit Benefit.

  • We will not pay benefits under the Intensive Care Unit Benefit Rider for a Period of Confinement for a Covered Person’s confinement caused or contributed to by: • an intentionally self-inflicted Injury or suicide attempt; or • the Covered Person being intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any narcotic unless administered on the advice of a Physician and taken according to the Physician's advice.

  • The intensive care unit Period of Confinement must be recommended by a Physician.

  • Daily Benefit: the amount payable for each Day spent in the Hospital One Period of Confinement means a Hospital confinement due to the same Injury unless separated by at least 30 days.

More Definitions of Period of Confinement

Period of Confinement means a period of time which begins on the first day the insured person is confined in a hospital. Successive periods of confinement will be considered to be the same period of confinement unless they are separated by more than 30 days.

  • Period of Agreement means 5 years from the date of Final acceptance of the Project.

  • Medically Fit to Travel means based on assessment a Legally Qualified Physician has advised You, a Traveling Companion, Family Member or Business Partner booked to travel with You in writing that there is no medical condition, illness, Injury or Sickness that would likely interfere with a Trip at the time of purchase of Coverage for a Trip.

  • Dependent care assistance program or "DCAP" means a benefit plan whereby school employees may pay for certain employment related dependent care with pretax dollars as provided in the salary reduction plan under chapter 41.05 RCW pursuant to 26 U.S.C. Sec. 129 or other sections of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • Service Animal means an animal that is required by a person with a disability for assistance and is certified, in writing, as having been trained by a professional service animal institution to assist a person with a disability and which is properly harnessed in accordance with standards established by a professional service animal institution.
