Personal Reasons definition

Personal Reasons means that these reasons are personal to a staff person and the details do not need to be shared with your employer.”
Personal Reasons. This applies where a transfer is sought by an employee on personal grounds which are not covered by any other operational factor and which are not necessarily in the operational interests of the Service. These reasons must be unique and compelling. This factor does not include reasons related to cost of travel nor purchase of a residence in another location. Utilisation of this operational factor shall only be on a case by case basis and shall be of no precedent value.

Examples of Personal Reasons in a sentence

  • If the employee qualifies for Compassionate Care leave it can be combined with a Leave for Urgent Personal Reasons.

  • A Leave of Absence for Personal Reasons will have a cap of two semesters.

  • All such Personal Reasons Leaves of Absence require specific approval and shall not exceed twelve (12) months in duration from the last day worked.

  • Failure to return from an approved Leave of Absence for Personal Reasons will result in automatic termination.

  • Should absence from duty to accommodate attendance at such courses be necessary, approval is required in accordance with Article XV G, "Leave for Personal Reasons." (Also see Educational Leave.) This clause shall not be applied to those employees whose association with the College is for the purpose of education.

  • Leave of Absence for Personal Reasons will not exceed 1 year except in extenuating circumstances.

  • If known in advance, an employee may request a Leave of Absence for Personal Reasons longer than one semester with approval from the supervisor and College President/Vice Chancellor with concurrence from the Chief Human Resources Officer, or CHRO’s designee.

  • Personal Reasons leave in excess of three (3) consecutive work days shall not be granted unless approved by the Food and Nutrition Services Director/Designee.

  • Layoff, acceptance of a non-bargaining unit position or taking of an extended Personal Reasons Leave of Absence (more than 30 leave days in any contract year) shall constitute an interruption of the employee’s continuous service and accrual of seniority shall terminate, but previously accrued seniority shall not be lost.

  • Employees will retain their seniority but will not continue to accumulate seniority during: • Leave for Personal Reasons greater than 15 consecutive calendar days in a calendar month, except as provided in Clause 7.1.6; • all other unpaid leaves not covered in Clause 7.1.6.
