Regular Substitute definition

Regular Substitute an individual who is employed for assignment to a permanent Unit 10 position in the place and stead of a permanent Unit 10 employee who is away from his/her position on a leave of absence. Regular substitutes shall be appointed and their names carried in the minutes of the Board of Education as “Regular Substitutes” along with the name of the employee for whom the person is substituting.

More Definitions of Regular Substitute

Regular Substitute means an employee who is hired to replace a regular employee who is on an extended leave of absence under Article 15 or any other absence. If the absent employee gives notice of his/her intent to return to work, the regular substitute may elect to fill a position pursuant to Article 7.11.1(a), with the exception of the position for which the regular substitute had been employed. If the absent employee for whom a regular substitute is employed gives notice to Aspire that he/she has no intention of returning, the vacated position will be posted as per Section 7.15 of the contract and any regular substitute in that position at the time shall retain regular substitute status during the posting period.
