Seniority in Classification definition

Seniority in Classification means the length of an employee's most recent Continuous Employment in a classification in the Department (which shall include service in any higher classification as provided in this Article) measured from the first date of employment in that classification or a higher classification in the Department.

Examples of Seniority in Classification in a sentence

  • Employees shall be laid-off in inverse Order of Seniority in Classification.

  • The Employer shall maintain and post, at least annually, a current seniority list reflecting the Order of Department Seniority and Seniority in Classification.

  • Employees bumped back to a lower classification shall be eligible to promote to vacancies in the previously held higher classification, or any lower classification within the appropriate division, by Order of Seniority in Classification in that higher classification.

  • Unless otherwise stated, the terms and conditions set out herein under Section 4- 9 shall apply in full for each of the contractual documents forming this Agreement.

  • Specifically: • Employees above the classifications of Police Support Services Specialist and Communications Dispatcher who volunteer to be laid-off pursuant to Step 2 above shall be eligible to fill vacancies in that previously held classification, or any lower classification, by Order of Seniority in Classification in that classification, during the Re-Employment Eligibility Period as defined below.

  • Except as otherwise provided in this Section, an employee above the classification of Communications Dispatcher or Police Support Services Specialist shall bump back to the next lower classification as defined below, if any, previously held by that employee in which such employee's Seniority in Classification is greater than the Seniority in Classification of all other employees who would otherwise be in such lower classification after implementation of the personnel reduction.

  • The Employer shall maintain and post, at least annually, a current seniority list reflecting the Order of Bargaining Unit Seniority and Seniority in Classification.

  • Except as otherwise provided in this Section, an employee above the classification of Police Officer shall bump back to the next lower classification, if any, previously held by that employee in which such employee's Seniority in Classification is greater than the Seniority in Classification of all other employees who would otherwise be in such lower classification after implementation of the personnel reduction.

  • In all cases, the eligible employee with the highest Seniority in Classification shall be entitled to the opening, provided that such eligible employee must be a "Qualified Employee", which for the purposes of this Section shall be defined as an individual who (a) meets the then current employment standards, and (b) if the Re-Employment Offer is more than twenty-four (24) months after the Effective Date.

Related to Seniority in Classification

  • Classification Seniority means the length of service in the classification, calculated from the date the employee enters the classification.

  • Job Classification means an arrangement of tasks in an establishment or industry into a limited series of jobs or occupations, rated in terms of skill, responsibility, experience, training, and similar considerations, usually for wage setting purposes. This term, or job class, refers to a single cluster of jobs of approximately equal “worth.”

  • film classification body means the person or persons designated as the authority under section 4 of the Video Recordings Act 1984 (c.39) (authority to determine suitability of video works for classification).

  • Seniority means length of service with the Employer.

  • Classification means the identification of a position by reference to a class title and pay range number.

  • Classifications means the classifications contained in Schedule 1 to this Agreement.

  • Related Classes As to any Uncertificated REMIC I Regular Interest, those classes of Certificates identified as "Related Classes of Certificates" to such Uncertificated REMIC I Regular Interest in the definition of Uncertificated REMIC I Regular Interest.

  • Approved Classification Society means, in relation to a Ship, a classification society which is a member of IACS (other than the China Classification Society and the Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping) and acceptable to the Agent;

  • Unimpaired Class means an unimpaired Class within the meaning of section 1124 of the Bankruptcy Code.

  • Classification plan means the orderly arrangement of positions within an agency into separate and distinct job families so that each job family will contain those positions which involve similar or comparable skills, duties and responsibilities [74:840 1.3].

  • International Classification means the Classification established under the Locarno Agreement Establishing an International Classification for Industrial Designs;

  • Class size means the maximum number of students who can receive instruction together in a special class or resource room program and the number of teachers and supplementary school personnel assigned to the class.

  • Restricted Classes As defined in Section 4.02(e).

  • Impaired Class means an impaired Class within the meaning of section 1124 of the Bankruptcy Code.

  • Change in Tax Classification has the meaning set forth in Section 5.2(h).

  • Overvote means that the elector marks or designates more names than there are persons to be elected to an office or designates more than one answer to a ballot question, and the tabulator records no vote for the office or question.

  • Priority Claims means, collectively, Priority Tax Claims and Other Priority Claims.

  • Undervote means that the elector does not properly designate any choice for an office or ballot question, and the tabulator records no vote for the office or question.

  • Offered Subordinate Certificates As specified in the Preliminary Statement.

  • Secured Claims means Claims held by “secured creditors” as defined in the CCAA, including Construction Lien Claims, to the extent of the Allocated Value of the Property securing such Claim, with the balance of the Claim being a Deficiency Claim, and amounts subject to section 6(6) of the CCAA;

  • S&P Industry Classification The S&P Industry Classifications set forth in Schedule 2 hereto, which industry classifications may be updated at the option of the Collateral Manager if S&P publishes revised industry classifications.
