Suspension of Membership definition

Suspension of Membership means suspension of all Association membership rights and privileges, and denial of Association services, on terms and conditions expressly stated for a period of time not less than thirty (30) calendar and not more than one (1) year, including, but not limited to, use of the terms REALTOR® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, with reinstatement as a member in good standing automatically provided at the end of the specified period. In the event the suspension is for a remediable violation (as defined in Section 1(o)), the suspension is in effect for the period that the violation remains uncorrected, and the minimum and maximum time limits for suspension do not apply. Resignation prior to a member complying with sanctions imposed for violation of the Code of Ethics shall automatically be deemed a suspension.

Suspension of Membership means suspension of all Board/Association provided membership rights, privileges and services (including those provided by the State and National Association) not available to nonmembers for a period not less than thirty (30) days and not longer than one (1) year on terms and conditions expressly stated for an established period of time, including use of the terms REALTOR® and REALTOR ASSOCIATE®, with automatic reinstatement of all withdrawn membership rights, privileges, and services at the end of the period of suspension. The thirty (30) day minimum and one (1) year maximum do not apply where suspension is imposed for a remediable violation of a membership duty (e.g., failure to pay dues or fees or failure to complete educational requirements). Although membership rights, privileges, and services are withdrawn as specified in the notice of suspension, membership, per se, including the duty to abide by the Code of Ethics and the obligation to pay membership dues continues during the period of suspension. Suspended members shall not be obligated for payment of other fees or charges except for continued optional services of the Board. Any failure to abide by the terms and conditions of the suspension, or the finding of a violation of the Code of Ethics after a hearing as provided by the professional standards procedures of the Board bylaws, shall be grounds for consideration as to possible extension of the suspension or expulsion from membership in the Board.

  • A member who fails to meet the requirements of this Section shall be subject to the Suspension of Membership provisions of Section 8 of this Article.


More Definitions of Suspension of Membership

Suspension of Membership or “Suspension” means suspension of (i) BAREIS membership rights, preferences and privileges, including voting rights, and (ii) MLS Privileges, on terms and conditions stated for a period of time of not more than one year as determined by the applicable committee or Person authorized by the Board. In the event the Suspension is for a Remediable Violation, the Suspension shall be in effect for the period that the violation remains uncorrected. At the end of the applicable Suspension period, reinstatement of a suspended Member’s membership and MLS Privileges shall be automatic, provided that the Member is current on all amounts owed to BAREIS and has kept all fees current during the period of Suspension.
Suspension of Membership means loss of the use of post nominals and the right to vote, for a period as determined by the Board in accordance with the Constitution.
