Volunteer Activities. Coverage may be provided for medical volunteer activities when approved in advance by the Program Director and the GME Office. The Resident should consult with their Program Director for clarification of coverage for proposed volunteer activities in advance of undertaking such activities.  Outside Professional Work: Professional liability coverage is not provided by the University of Washington for external moonlighting activities, as these activities are outside the scope of the residency program. Professional liability coverage may be provided for some internal moonlighting activities and is determined on a case-by-case basis. Residents should direct questions to the GME Office. If the University is defending an action involving a Resident, whether the School or the Resident are or are not individually named as defendants, the Resident shall cooperate fully with the University and its counsel in handling or defending the action, claim or proceedings. This obligation shall continue after the Resident leaves the residency program.

Volunteer Activities includes all activities, events and services provided, arranged, organized, sponsored or authorized by the Releasees, including but not limited to: painting, staining, lifting heavy objects such as furniture or firewood, chopping firewood, cleaning buildings, cleaning equipment, landscaping, brush cutting, carpentry, plumbing, using manual tools, using power tools, and all other volunteer activities and services and all related activities.

Granting of coverage will be at the sole discretion of the Director of Risk Services.  Moonlighting: Professional liability coverage is not provided by the University of Washington for external moonlighting activities, as these activities are outside the scope of the residency program. In general, the University of Washington will provide professional liability coverage for approved Internal Moonlighting activities at UWMC, HMC, and other employing entities that are an existing part of the University’s professional liability program. If the University is defending an action involving the Resident, whether the School or the Resident are or are not individually named as defendants, the Resident shall cooperate fully with the University and its counsel in handling or defending the action, claim or proceedings. Examples of Volunteer Activities in a sentence

  • Each calendar year, employees will be eligible to convert two (2) days of sick leave to volunteer days in accordance with the County Personnel Manual policy on Employee Volunteer Activities.

Related to Volunteer Activities

  • Activities has the meaning specified in Section 7.02(b).

  • Extracurricular activities means: a voluntary activity sponsored by the school or local education agency or an organization sanctioned by the local education agency.   • Economic activities shall in principle include activities of an industrial, commercial and professional character and activities of craftsmen;

  • Competing Activities means the same or similar services as Xxxxxx Xxx Ltd is providing to the Restaurant under this Agreement or other activities having a similar purpose.
