GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. As soon as you set out on your bicycle you become a road user. You should therefore always observe the local and national traffic regulations applicable in the country where you are cycling. • Cortina bicycles meet the requirements set for personal means of transport. Each country may have specific legal requirements for the use of bicycles on public roads. Information about these requirements can be obtained from the relevant bodies, such as the local authorities. • You should only use your bicycle as a personal means of transport. Make sure that your bicycle is not subjected to extreme loads or exposed to heavy jolts. • Use your bicycle for the purposes it was designed for. • Have your bicycle adapted to your size and requirements by the Cortina dealer. This will enhance both your comfort and your safety. • Never adjust parts whilst cycling! • Adapt your speed to the weather conditions. • Bear in mind that you will need a longer braking distance in wet weather, frost, snow or if there is mud on the road. • Also bear in mind that you will need a longer braking distance at higher speeds and if you are carrying an extra load, such as panniers and/or children's seats. • If the road surface is slippery push your bicycle instead of riding it, and do not use the power assist with electric bicycles.
