(a) TRAINING PAY. Employees who are assigned the responsibility of training other employees including students, in a formalized setting, will receive premium pay of one dollar ($1.00) per hour for the number of hours they are training. This does not include orienting employees to their position shadowing or observing. Employees may not be directed to assess or evaluate the competencies of new staff. The Department Head will determine the need for training, if any. To receive training pay, the training authorization form must be completed by the Department Head and submitted to Administration with a supplemental payroll authorization for approval by Executive Vice President or their designee prior to any employee starting to train others. Travel time shall be at the employee’s regular pay.
