Absolute Work Window. A period of time in which construction activities are given priority over Railroad's operations. During this time the designated Railroad track(s) will be inactive for train movements and may be fouled by the Contractor. Before the end of an Absolute Work Window, all Railroad tracks and signals must be completely operational for normal train operations. Also, all Railroad, Public Utilities Commission and Federal Railroad Administration requirements, codes and regulations for operational tracks must be complied with. Should the operating tracks and/or signals be affected, the Railroad will perform inspections of the work prior to placing the affected track back into service. Railroad flag persons will be required for construction activities requiring an Absolute Work Window. Absolute Work Windows will generally not be granted. Any request will require a detailed written explanation for Railroad review and approval.
