Teacher Work Day. The term of contract for employees shall be one hundred ninety (190) days (maximum one hundred eighty (180) student days). Any extension of the term of contract shall be paid in full day increments and be paid at the rate of one-one hundred ninetieth (1/190) of the regular salary of the employee. The maximum daily hours of work for employees shall be 465 continuous minutes and shall include a minimum of thirty (30) minutes continuous, duty-free lunch period. No more than 375 minutes shall be student contact time. The teaching staff will receive one full day at the end of each quarter to be used in preparation of grades for report cards and conferences. The hours of work for all professional employees shall be 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., four (4) days a week, with the exception of days on which staff meetings are held, grades are prepared, and staff in- service days. Sixty (60) minutes will be used for collaboration on Wednesday mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The hours of work for all professional employees on Wednesdays shall be 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the exception of days on which staff meetings are held, grades are prepared, and staff in-service days. Assignment of students for a new school year to classrooms and schedules shall be done in a fair and equitable manner to promote a variety of strengths, needs and equal numbers of each classroom. The Administration shall make reasonable effort to ensure that assignments are made collaboratively, considering such issues as special needs, behavior, attendance and academic levels. Collaborative input may include regular and special education staff, para-educators, teaching specialist and administrators. In the event of a change in the student day, the Association will be informed of such change and given an opportunity to respond, provided, however, that exceptions to this section may occur in the event of emergencies or acts of God. The District shall make every reasonable effort to increase the amount of collaboration time available to professional employees within the normal work day. Xxx Xxxxxxxx shall make every reasonable effort to ensure equitable workload distribution and student contact time amongst staff members.
Teacher Work Day a. The normal work day for 192-day employees under this Agreement shall be a 7.5 hour day.
b. The start time for the following school year shall be published by July 1 with no changes accepted until the next school year.
c. The start times for teachers will be as follows:
i. Elementary: between 8:00 and 8:30.
ii. Middle: between 7:45 and 8:15.
Teacher Work Day. On a regular school day, the teacher work day begin/end times will consist of 7 hours and 45 minutes. The administration will announce before/after school arrival and dismissal times for teachers at the beginning institute day of each year.
Teacher Work Day. 1. Certified staff will have the option to choose one of the following work schedules – 7:40am to 3:40pm or 8:00am to 4:00pm. The certified staff member will complete and sign a form at the fall in-service meeting declaring which option they will follow for the school year. Certified staff will be available for meetings (IEP, staff meetings, professional development) before and after school from 7:30am to 4:00pm regardless of the work schedule chosen and without additional cost to the district.
2. Special activities requiring additional time shall not be included or considered part of A above, but shall be in addition to the minimum day as set out above.
3. Adjustments are at the discretion of the superintendent.
4. On days preceding a non-work day, teachers may leave at 3:40pm regardless of which work schedule is chosen. Teachers will be required to stay on these days if the superintendent finds it necessary.
Teacher Work Day. Professional educators are responsible for a total educational program that includes instructional and non- instructional duties. A schedule for non-instructional duties or responsibilities will be decided upon by the principal and building leadership team. Middle school and high school teachers may be assigned student observation duties for a maximum of one week per quarter. If the non-instructional duty schedule is not resolved at the building level, the issue shall be presented to the Superintendent or their designee and the CEA Co-Chairs for resolution. The District and the Association recognize that professional educators must have adequate time to plan, work with struggling students, and communicate with parents. Schools will give due consideration to these needs when developing the above supervision schedules. The basic work day for certificated staff shall be 7-1/2 hours, including a 1/2 hour duty free lunch and a planning time. Pre K-3 teachers shall not be required to be present during specialist instructional time. The last day of school will be approximately 1/2 day for students and a full day for staff. For the duration of this CBA, as a pilot program, Pre-K-12 students will be released ninety minutes early once per week. The purpose of these early release days shall be to provide appropriate time to address PLC’s and operational issues. At least sixty minutes of each early dismissal will be devoted to PLC work. Building leadership teams will work together with principals to determine how best to document the work of PLC’s. Such documentation will focus on the intent of PLC’s as teacher-focused work, will service the primary purpose of documenting the group’s work for the group’s future benefit, and will not be overly burdensome. Meeting minutes may satisfy this requirement. Each school shall be responsible for submitting to the superintendent (or their designee) a monthly plan which clearly articulates how the allocated time will be utilized. The school plan will be developed utilizing a consensus decision-making model and shall be in alignment with the District’s goals/improvement plan and/or individual school implementation schedules. There will be two (2) additional paid days for all District kindergarten teachers for extra work outside the workday associated with the data entry for the WA-Kids assessments. Teacher Work Day. 6.2.1 The Board and the Association recognize that a teacher’s professional and primary responsibility and obligation is to teach.
6.2.2 Each school staff will equitably distribute and share duties and responsibilities so that they are manageable for all. Faculty meetings will be scheduled during the existing schoolwork day and shall be completed during that time. Attendance beyond the workday shall be optional.
6.2.3 Each school shall design their yearly and daily schedules to reflect the priority that teachers are able to plan and prepare to deliver quality instruction. Each school leadership team shall develop and distribute work day schedules which meet the requirements of this Article prior to September 1 of each year. Schedules may be revised as needed throughout the school year. Teachers’ time before and after school on student contact days, will reflect a balance between school-directed time and teacher-directed time. Collaboration is expected both in teacher- directed and school-directed time.
6.2.4 Each school shall design their work day to include a minimum 30-minute lunch time, free from regularly scheduled duties.
6.2.5 In consideration of each school’s unique needs, each school’s Leadership Team will make every effort to schedule consecutive, equitable and adequate time for both teacher and team planning during the teacher workday. There shall be no required student supervision during plan time. While the priority is for teachers to be planned and prepared to deliver quality instruction, it is understood that professional meetings are inherent to instructional planning and may be scheduled during a teacher’s planning time.
6.2.6 The number of consecutive teaching assignments and the number of different assignments will be kept to a minimum. Using a collaborative process, each school shall decide division and number of teaching assignments based on student needs, teacher expertise, and school design. The District will review and adjust caseloads for special populations as necessary. Caseloads will be determined by student needs, staff expertise, and program design.
6.2.7 Licensed staff shall be required to substitute when a classroom teacher absence is not covered, or if an emergency arises. The School Director will make every effort to obtain a substitute teacher. Prior to the first day of student contact, each school will use a collaborative process to develop a written plan for how to fairly and equitably support students in these situation...
Teacher Work Day. A work day shall consist of seven and one quarter (7.25) hours per day of attendance by all teachers within the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise agreed upon by the Association and Board.
Teacher Work Day. A. A Teacher is guaranteed at least thirty (30) consecutive minutes for a duty-free lunch. The total hours per day, inclusive of lunch, shall not exceed7 hours and 30 minutes.
B. After consultation with the WWEA, the District will determine and distribute building hours annually.
C. Early childhood and elementary teachers will start at scheduled building hours for professional time, not to exceed one (1) mandatory principal called all staff/faculty meeting per week. On the remaining days of the week, teachers shall use the time to fulfill their professional responsibilities. Meetings to address emergency or urgent circumstances may be called as necessary.
D. Middle school teachers will start 30 minutes earlier one day per week, 3 times per month, for professional time as determined by the building administrator.
E. High school teachers may be required to attend two (2) meetings/month, on average, not to exceed forty-five (45) minutes each.
F. Teachers may be required to attend a maximum of four (4) activities per year beyond the regular work day, provided, however, that the total amount of required attendance time for each Teacher should not exceed approximately ten (10) hours per school year. While attendance at certain activities may be required of all Teachers in a building, Teachers may sign up for those activities which are not required, provided that the Principal may assign a Teacher to any such activity so long as such assignment(s) is/are consistent with the attendance requirements provided herein. The principal may reassign a Teacher to another activity in the event the Teacher is unavailable for the activity assigned or requested. Teachers may also be assigned an activity in the event of an emergency.
G. In addition to the workday provisions above, a Teacher may be required to attend one (1) District level meetings/semester, on average, not to exceed 60 minutes. Attendance at such meetings is not included in the maximum of four (4) required activities noted herein.
H. The principal(s) to whom a psychologist and/or social worker is (are) assigned shall set the beginning and ending times of the workday; excepting overload compensation paid pursuant to this Agreement, and except as provided herein such beginning and ending times shall be reasonably consistent with assigned building Teacher work times.

Teacher Work Day. The teacher work day and/or the student day shall not be extended without notifying the Association. The Association then has the right to request mid-term bargaining over the change in the work day and/or student day.
Teacher Work Day. 1. The work day for all elementary school employees represented by the CGSEA shall consist of not more than seven (7) hours and thirty˗one (31) minutes, inclusive of the time periods specified in the following paragraphs:
a. All employees shall be entitled to an uninterrupted, duty-free lunch period of not less than thirty (30) minutes. Employees may leave the building during this time.
b. All elementary teachers shall be entitled to a minimum of 200 minutes per week of planning/conference time. Such planning/conference time shall be scheduled in blocks of no less than fifteen (15) minutes and each teacher shall have at least one (1) block of thirty (30) consecutive minutes each day. Elementary teachers who do not have an assigned homeroom may have their block of thirty (30) minutes scheduled outside the student day if necessary to make the master schedule work. Every attempt shall be made to schedule planning/conference time in thirty (30) consecutive minutes during the student day for teachers who are not assigned a homeroom. Affected teachers shall be given a copy of the tentative schedule and be invited to the review pursuant to Article VI, Section C.
