Common use of Access to Employee's Personnel File Clause in Contracts

Access to Employee's Personnel File. Employees covered by this Agreement may have visual access to their own personnel file, upon written request by the employee involved, without giving a reason for the review. It is understood that employees shall be able to write notes for their own use while reviewing their own personnel file. Upon written request, the employee shall also receive an exact copy of such document. In addition, a copy of an employee's reply to any document contained on their file shall be placed in the employee's personnel file. The employee's reply to a document shall be removed if the document is removed from the personnel file. All documents shall be made available in one file. Management shall make themselves available to attend this review during the employees own time.
