Acting Supervisor/Watch Commander Pay. Effective June 1, 2010, Public Safety Officers who have passed an eligibility testing process approved by the Director of Public Safety shall be eligible to serve as an Acting Supervisor/Watch Commander. As a specific decision-making role and authority is delegated with this assignment, this assignment may be made for a period of any length, up to three months. Continuous assignment for periods exceeding one pay period will be made in writing. Acting Supervisor/Watch Commander assignments will be compensated by a 5% acting pay for all hours actually worked as an Acting Supervisor/Watch Commander. An Acting Supervisor/Watch Commander assignment may be compensated by a 10% acting pay to ensure against loss of income to the assigned Public Safety Officer if other assignment-based compensation is removed due to the Acting Supervisor/Watch Commander assignment.
