Common use of Alternate Employment Clause in Contracts

Alternate Employment. Permanent Disability - When any employee through injury, illness, or handicap, is unable to perform their regular duties; the Employer shall provide suitable employment within the Fire Department, provided the employee is qualified and able to perform the duties of the position with reasonable training, at First Class Fire Fighter rate of pay, and all benefits. The maximum number of positions to be occupied by employees in this category will be five (5) at any given time.
