Approval or Denial. 1. The right for approval or denial of leave lies with the Unit Member’s immediate supervisor. In case of denial by the immediate supervisor, the reason shall be provided, in writing, to the Unit Member upon request. The Unit Member may appeal the decision to the Superintendent's office. The decision of the Superintendent will be final.

The availability of appropriate technology/resources is a condition for any management approval. If the HOCALJ denies a Judge’s request, the Judge cannot reapply for regular telework until the next open season.

Human Resources will make reasonable efforts 26 to ensure an approval or denial is provided to the employee and their 27 immediate supervisor prior to the date for which leave is requested.
