Association Representation. 8.01 For the purpose of administration of this Collective Agreement, the Employer agrees to recognize a designated representative from the Bargaining Units and the following committee members of the Association. (a) Negotiating Committee composed of two (2) nurses selected by the Bargaining Unit provided that the Committee shall be composed of one (1) part-time and one full-time nurse. (b) Grievance Committee for each Home will be composed of up to three (3) nurses selected by the nurses at Grey Gables provided that the Committee shall be composed of bargaining unit employees from each classification of nurses for the Home. (c) Occupational Health and Safety Committee pursuant to the provisions of the 8.02 The Association agrees that Local representatives and committee members have their regular duties to perform on behalf of the Employer and that they will not leave their regular duties without first receiving permission from their immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. 8.03 The Employer shall pay designated representatives and committee members of the Negotiating Committee, Grievance Committee and Nurse-Management Committee their respective salaries, inclusive of applicable benefits, for all regular on-duty time used in processing grievances, negotiating renewal of this Agreement and while attending all meetings of the Nurse-Management Committee with the Employer. In the renewal of an Agreement the payment will be up to, but not including conciliation and arbitration. Association Representation. 8.01 6.01 For the purpose of administration representation with the City, the Association shall function and be recognized as follows:
a. The Association may appoint or elect up to one xxxxxxx per volunteer or composite Station. Stewards are representatives of the volunteer firefighters in certain matters pertaining to this Agreement, including the processing of grievances. Only those volunteer firefighters who have successfully completed the probationary period shall be eligible to be a xxxxxxx.
b. CLAC Representatives are representatives of the volunteer firefighters in all matters pertaining to this Agreement, particularly for the purpose of processing grievances, negotiating amendments to and renewals of this Collective Agreement, Agreement and enforcing the Employer agrees volunteer firefighters’ collective bargaining rights as well as any other rights under this Agreement and under the law. Permission to recognize a designated representative from attend on the Bargaining Units City’s premises must be obtained through the Fire Chief or their designate and the following committee members of the Association.

It is agreed that the Association will elect or otherwise select a bargaining committee consisting of four (4) volunteer firefighters and committee two (2) alternate volunteer firefighters. All members of the Negotiating Committeebargaining committee shall be active volunteer firefighters and shall have completed probation.

The City agrees to pay the applicable rate of pay to up to two (2) officials of the Association for time spent attending grievance, Grievance Committee mediation and Nurselabour management meetings. Payment for attendance at labour management meetings shall be restricted to three (3) hours duration.
6.02 The Association agrees to notify the City in writing of the names of its officials and the effective dates of their appointments.
6.03 The City will provide a bulletin board conspicuously placed in each volunteer Station and composite Station for the exclusive use of the bargaining agent for legitimate Association business. The Association agrees that defamatory or libellous statements concerning the City/Xxxxxxxx Fire Department and its Officers shall not be placed on bulletin boards.
6.04 The City shall, upon one week’s notice, permit representatives of the Association to attend regular training nights and provide up to one-Management Committee their respective salaries, inclusive of applicable benefits, half (½) hour to discuss Association affairs. Members will not be paid for all regular on-duty the time used in processing grievances, negotiating renewal of this Agreement and while attending all meetings to discuss such affairs.
6.05 Without limiting the rights of the Nurse-Management Committee City in Article 2, it is further recognized that the City may meet periodically with the Employer. In the renewal of an Agreement the payment will be up to, but not including conciliation and arbitration. The Union agrees to reimburse the employer volunteer firefighters for the salaries and applicable benefits as maintained by purpose of discussing any matters of concern to the employerCity. Where those matters are of mutual interest to the Association, an official of the Association or a CLAC Representative may attend such meetings.
