Attendance at Educational Meetings, Conferences, and Conventions. ‌ Criteria for approval of either Instructional Employee-initiated requests and/or administrative- initiated requests shall be provided to the staff by each Building Principal by the end of the first grading period. A. Instructional Employee-Initiated Requests 1. To attend educational meetings, conferences, conventions, workshops, seminars, clinics, or to conduct school visitations within the District or outside of the District may be approved by the Superintendent upon the recommendation of the Principal or other appropriate administrator. Request for such attendance shall be made at least ten (10) school days prior to the day any such leave shall commence and shall be made on the appropriate form. 2. Such approval may include all or part of the expenses incurred as a result of such attendance and an estimate of such anticipated expenses must be submitted with the request. Eligible expenses may include the approved cost of travel, housing, meals, and registration. In order to receive reimbursement for eligible expenses, the Instructional Employee must submit a request for reimbursement and any appropriate receipts for expenditures. B. Administrative-Initiated Requests 1. Attendance by Instructional Employees at meetings, conferences, conventions, workshops, seminars, clinics or to conduct school visitations within the District or outside of the District may be approved by the Superintendent upon the recommendation of the Principal or other appropriate administrator. 2. An estimate of anticipated expenses must be submitted on the appropriate form prior to the day any such leave commences. Reimbursement for eligible expenses shall include the approved costs of travel, housing, meals, and registration. In order to receive reimbursement for eligible expenses, the Instructional Employee must submit a request for reimbursement and any appropriate receipts for such expenditures. A separate check after all documentation has been approved by the Treasurer's office will be processed in the next corresponding vendor cycle.

  • ATTENDANCE AT MANDATORY MEETINGS/SCHOOL EVENTS Where an employee is required through clear direction by the board to attend work outside of regular working hours, the provisions of the local collective agreement regarding hours of work and compensation, including any relevant overtime/lieu time provisions, shall apply. Required attendance outside of regular working hours may include, but is not limited to school staff meetings, parent/teacher interviews, curriculum nights, Individual Education Plan and Identification Placement Review Committee meetings, and consultations with board professional staff.

  • Attendance at Meetings Any employee required to attend Occupational Health and Safety Committee and/or Board of Management meetings in the capacity of employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work, be entitled to receive ordinary pay per hour for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may, with the agreement of the employer, be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement.

  • Conferences and Meetings Attend meetings with Contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project-related meetings, and prepare and circulate copies of minutes thereof.

  • Required Meetings or Hearings Whenever any employee is required to appear before the Superintendent or his designee, Board or any committee, member, representative or agent thereof concerning any matter which could adversely affect the continuation of that employee in his office, position, or employment or the salary of any increments pertaining thereto, then he shall be given prior written notice of the reasons for such meetings or interview and shall be entitled to have a representative of the Association present to advise him and represent him during such meetings or interview.

  • Professional Meetings Employees should be encouraged to and may, with the approval of the supervisor, attend professional meetings, conferences, and activities. Subject to the availability of funds, the employee's expenses in connection with such meetings, conferences, or activities shall be reimbursed in accordance with the applicable provisions of State law and university rules.

  • Board Meetings The Superintendent shall attend, and shall be permitted to attend, all meetings of the Board, both public and closed, with the exception of those closed meetings devoted to the consideration of any action or lack of action on the Superintendent's Contract, or the Superintendent's evaluation, or for purposes of resolving conflicts between individual Board members, or when the Board is acting in its capacity as a tribunal. In the event of illness or Board-approved absence, the Superintendent's designee shall attend such meetings.

  • Conference Attendance The Federation will be entitled to five (5) person days per year release time for designated Federation representatives to attend conferences. All conference expenses will be the responsibility of the Federation, unless funding is requested and approved through regular District processes for conference attendance.

  • Conference Telephone Meetings Directors or members of any committee of the Board may participate in a meeting of the Board or such committee by means of conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and such participation in a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.

  • Notice of Board Meetings Notice of Board meetings shall be given by the Chair or the Chair’s designee to each other Board Member by overnight courier service, email or other electronic transmission, or personal delivery. Notices shall be deemed to have been given: if given by courier service, when deposited with a courier service for overnight delivery with charges therefor prepaid or duly provided for; if given email or other electronic transmission, at the time of sending; and if given by personal delivery, at the time of delivery. Notices given by personal delivery may be in writing or oral. Written notices shall be sent to a Board Member at the postal address, email address or address for other electronic transmission, designated by him or her for that purpose or, if none has been so designated, at his or her last known residence or business address, email address or address for other electronic transmission. Except to the extent required by applicable law, no notice of any meeting of the Board need state the purposes of the meeting.
