Educational Meetings. An adjunct professor may request to attend an educational meeting during assigned classes by submitting a written request to the xxxx within a reasonable period of time prior to the specific event. The decision of the xxxx shall be final.
Educational Meetings. A teacher, upon request, may be granted up to but not to exceed forty (40) hours in any given contract year, the time necessary to attend educational meetings/workshops when permission is granted by the superintendent or designee.
Educational Meetings. Educational meetings shall be defined as those conducted for the purpose of developing skills and qualifications of nurses, enhancing and upgrading the quality of patient care, and shall not include any meetings conducted for the purpose of labor relations or collective bargaining activities.
Educational Meetings. Management may require that Dispatchers attend meetings for educational and informative purposes. Any full-time Employee who is required to attend such meetings shall be paid for time worked for with a minimum of two (2) additional hours of pay.
Educational Meetings. The Controller’s Office will hold on-site Educational Meetings during the Notice period. More information regarding specific dates and times will be distributed approximately three weeks prior to the meetings. In addition to representatives from the Controller’s Office, representatives from the Social Security Administration will join the meeting by phone to talk about the benefits Social Security provides. Representatives from IRS will also join the meeting by phone to talk about the repercussions of both a ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ vote and possible refund (if applicable), and finally a representative from PERSI will be on-site to review PERSI benefits. This referendum will not affect your PERSI contributions and benefits. This is your opportunity to ask questions and hear more information about all aspects of the referendum. Specific individual account benefit information will not be available during the Educational Meetings. A majority ‘Yes’ vote will close this matter indefinitely under current law for this Coverage Group. Moving the positions into a new retirement system, or ending the retirement system, will not stop coverage. All positions within the retirement system coverage group - current, future, and ineligibles that become eligible - will pay the Social Security tax (currently 6.2%).
Educational Meetings. The Association has the prerogative of using ten (10) paid days for P.S.E.A. conventions and professional meetings per year with a maximum of three (3) to be used during any one day. Any request for additional days for the above purposes will be given further consideration by the District. For each such day utilized, the Association will reimburse the District for the salary and social security costs of the substitute teacher. The association president or his/her designee shall be granted release time of 1 period (42 minutes) per week as needed for the purpose of conducting business. The president or his/her designee shall suffer no loss of salary or benefits or other professional advantage to which they are entitled as a result using this leave. This leave shall be coordinated with the building principal.
Educational Meetings. After one (1) year of continuous employment, nurses shall be allowed paid leave time per calendar year for attending educational meetings, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences. Such leave is subject to the Employer's review and approval of the course (such as course quality, provider, and content), its assessment of budgetary requirements, and its determination that the number of nurses wishing to attend at any given time does not jeopardize the hospital's service or patient care. To attend an educational class, the nurse must submit a request to the Nurse Manager with as much notice as possible. The term "educational meetings" is defined as those conducted to develop the professional skills and qualifications of the nurses for the purpose of enhancing and upgrading the quality of patient care at St. Xxxxxxxxx Hospital and may include relevant certifications, Continuing Education requirements, and unit specific content. Educational leave may be used on an hourly basis. Education/professional leave time shall be available on a calendar year basis, based on FTE, in accordance with the schedule below. Educational Meetings. Section 7.01 The DISTRICT will provide financial reimbursement for teachers who attend educational meetings, approved by the Superintendent. To be eligible, a written request must be presented to the Superintendent one (1) week in advance of the School Board meeting, prior to the conference, giving the time, place and an estimate of the expenditures. Three (3) days is the maximum that will be paid for a teacher during the school year. An itemized xxxx of actual expenses must be furnished for the approval of the School Board before payment will be made. When rides are shared, the mileage will be pro-rated accordingly. The reimbursement amounts shall be as follows:
Section 7.02 The School District shall reimburse teachers approved conference expenses at the rate of $600.00 per year.
Section 7.03 The cost of the application of this subsection shall not exceed the budgeted sum in any school year. Substitute costs necessitated by leaves directed by the Board or the Administration shall not be charged to this fund. Substitute costs for leaves for attending athletic, coaching clinics shall not be charged to this fund. Any unused portion of the annual budgeted sum shall remain the property of the DISTRICT.
Educational Meetings. The Superintendent will attend and participate in seminars, institutes, and/or meetings that may be provided by the School City, required by the Superintendent of Public Instruction, or authorized by the School City. The School City will pay the Superintendent for all expenses incurred by the Superintendent in attending and/or participating in such activities in accordance with the policies of the School Corporation.
Educational Meetings.
7.6.1.1 Thirteen and one-half (13.5) days shall be provided, to be used at the discretion of the Executive Council of the Association, for organizational activities. The Association shall notify the Superintendent and the Building Principal in writing at least five (5) school days in advance as to who is using these days, for what purpose, and the date(s) the teacher(s) will be absent from school. Such days will not be charged to the sick leave or personal leave of an individual teacher and shall be with full pay. At no time will more than three (3) teachers be absent under this provision. All days for N.Y.S.U.T. and
A. F.T. conferences will come from these days, and unused days will not be accumulated from year to year. Breach of the notice provision herein shall result in a full deduction of pay.
7.6.1.2 The elected delegate or alternate shall be permitted to attend the annual New York State Retirement System Meeting. If the District is allowed more than one delegate, another may attend under the same terms and conditions. No charge to sick leave will be made and such leaves are to be with full salary.
7.6.1.3 The Board will pay reasonable expenses for one delegate to the New York State Teachers’ Retirement Meeting, but it shall not be required to pay any conference expenses incurred for subparagraph 7.6.1.1 above.
7.6.1.4 The Board will pay reasonable expenses for one (1) teacher to attend the Board of Regents Conference held in the Buffalo area.
