AUTOMATIC RESIGNATION. 164. Absence from duty without proper authorization for any period of time up to and including five (5) or less working days may be cause for disciplinary action by the Appointing Authority. 165. Absence from duty without proper authorization in excess of five (5) continuous working days may constitute abandonment of the position and may be recorded as an automatic resignation. The employee shall be notified by certified mail of this action, prior to the effective date of the automatic resignation.
