Common use of Available Hours of Work Clause in Contracts

Available Hours of Work. (a) Full-time and part-time employees will be hired for permanent shifts. (b) Part-time and casual employees will notify the Employer in writing of any restrictions to their availability. (c) Employees within the same job classification shall be offered available shifts caused by absences or short-shifting by seniority within their classification first at their work location. (d) Employees from other work locations shall be offered available shifts caused by absences or short-shifting by seniority if no employee from the work location is available to work the required shift, providing they are capable of performing the work (have the necessary training and minimum qualifications).
