Bachelors Degree Level Classes. Initial costs for the class will be paid by the applicant and upon completion of the class with a grade of “B” or better the applicant will be reimbursed an amount equivalent to the in-district community college amount for the same number of credit hours. No reimbursement will occur until after successful completion of the course as evidenced by a certified transcript A receipt verifying payment of expenses must be submitted No reimbursement shall be paid by the District to an employee who resigns or is terminated for any reason prior to receiving reimbursement An employee participating in this program for course work cumulating in an associates or bachelors degree will be expected to remain a full time employee of the District for a period of two (2) years from completion of the degree program. An employee who terminates employment after receiving the degree, but prior to the expiration of the two (2) year date shall repay the District for the reimbursement received according to this pro-rated schedule: Prior to 1st year 100% re-payment Prior to 2nd year 50% re-payment If requests for reimbursement are denied, the District will notify the applicant in writing of the reasons for the denial. All employees are encouraged to apply to the Illinois Fire Chief’s Educational Foundation for scholarships and additional funds. District tuition re-imbursement is not to be used if other outside funds can be used for tuition re-imbursement i.e. G.I. Xxxx, scholarships, etc..
