Common use of Birth/Adoption Leave Clause in Contracts

Birth/Adoption Leave. For mothers, fathers or adopting parents, the Board will provide up to five days non- disability leave at full compensation immediately following the birth or adoption of a child in compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act without deduction from accumulated sick leave. This leave must be taken within three weeks of the date the child arrives in the home. This benefit is in addition to the benefits provided in section 7.2.
