Board Discretionary Leave. If requested by a teacher, the Board may grant leave of absence over and above that provided for elsewhere in this contract. Such leave will be without pay. Teacher teaching on call costs will be borne by the Board.

Board Discretionary Leave. Notwithstanding the general conditions set forth above, the Board retains the sole discretion to grant or extend any discretionary unpaid leave of absence (i.e., unpaid professional leave, unpaid part-time leave of absence, unpaid leaves for non-tenured teachers, unpaid leaves for classified employees with less than 2 years of service, and “other unpaid leave”) under any conditions deemed appropriate. The granting or denying of an unpaid discretionary leave or extension shall be non-precedential with respect to any other request for discretionary leave by an employee in the District. Nothing in this Subparagraph shall be deemed to deprive any employee of any right to a leave as provided for in the FMLA.

  • UNPAID DISCRETIONARY LEAVE 1. a. An employee shall be entitled to a minimum of three (3) days of unpaid discretionary leave each year.

  • Leave of Absence for College Committees An employee whose assigned work schedule would prevent her/him from attending meetings of a college committee to which s/he has been elected or appointed, will be granted a leave of absence from her/his regular duties without loss of pay or other entitlements to attend such meeting(s).   • Adoption Leave (a) The employee will notify the employer at least ten weeks in advance of the date of commencement of adoption leave and the period of leave to be taken. An employee may commence adoption leave prior to providing such notice, where through circumstances beyond the control of the employee, the adoption of a child takes place earlier.

  • Early Retirement Incentive The Employer may offer to any faculty member or a faculty member may apply for one of the early retirement incentive alternatives described herein, provided the faculty member meets the following criteria. The Union shall be advised in writing of any offer of early retirement made to a faculty member.
