Board/Interim Superintendent Responsibilities. Although the Interim Superintendent, as Chief Executive and Administrative Officer of the Board, shall have primary responsibility for execution of Board policies, the Board shall retain primary responsibility for formulating and adopting Board policies. In addition, while the Interim Superintendent shall have primary responsibility for assignment and transfer of employees and for selecting candidates for consideration for employment, the Board alone shall have the authority to hire and dismiss District personnel. The parties agree, individually and collectively, not to interfere with or usurp the primary responsibilities of the other party and agree that the Board, individually and collectively, shall promptly refer in writing all substantive criticisms, complaints, and suggestions called to the Board’s attention to the Interim Superintendent for study, correction, or other appropriate action, or if an issue of policy is involved, for recommendation to the Board. The Interim Superintendent shall promptly direct the investigation of such matters consistent with board policy and shall report back to the Board, after handling complaints referred by the Board or individual members of the Board, the results or status of such matters. The Board President shall be responsible for directing the investigation of complaints concerning the Interim Superintendent.

  • Department Responsibilities The use of sick leave may properly be denied if these procedures are not followed. Abuse of sick leave on the part of the employee is cause for disciplinary action. Departmental approval of sick leave is a certification of the legitimacy of the sick leave claim. The department head or designee may make reasonable inquiries about employee absences. The department may require medical verification for an absence of three (3) or more working days. The department may also require medical verification for absences of less than three (3) working days for probable cause if the employee had been notified in advance in writing that such verification was necessary. Residents assume total responsibility for their room/suite/apartment/house and for the behavior and activities which occur within all assigned living areas. Applicants and/or residents cannot exchange money or favors for a room assignment. Failure to fulfill the terms of the above may lead to termination of this contract, removal from on-campus housing, and a community standards process resulting in a sanction, including but not limited to expulsion.

  • Consultant Responsibilities 12.1. Consultant must make prompt payment for any claims for labor, materials, or services furnished to Consultant by any person in connection with this Agreement as such claims become due. Consultant shall not permit any liens or claims to be filed or prosecuted against the City on account of any labor or material furnished to or on behalf of Consultant. If Consultant fails, neglects, or refuses to make prompt payment of any such claim, the City may, but shall not be obligated to, pay such claim to the person furnishing the labor, materials, or services and offset the amount of the payment against funds due or to become due to Consultant under this Agreement. The City may also recover any such amounts directly from Consultant.

  • Board of Trustees’ Responsibilities 5.2.1 The Board of Trustees will be responsible for the operational and financial sustainability of the Trust, including:

  • Superintendent's Duties The Superintendent’s duties shall be as prescribed by statute and by Board policies, rules, regulations and directives. The Superintendent agrees to devote the Superintendent’s time, skill, labor and attention to all required duties throughout the contract term. The Superintendent shall be subject to the direction and control of the Board at all times and shall perform such administrative duties as the Board assigns. By agreement with the Board, the Superintendent may undertake consultative work, speaking engagements, writing, lecturing, or other professional duties and obligations as long as they do not interfere with carrying out the Superintendent’s duties and obligations to the District.
