Regular Appointment The authorized appointment of an individual to a position covered by Civil Service.
Faculty Appointments 5.4.1 On successful completion of the probationary period (unless 6.4 applies), a faculty employee shall be offered a faculty appointment. A faculty appointment means that the appointment shall be continued unless there are exceptional circumstances as specified in 8.4.1 or 6.4.

Method of Making Appointments In making staff changes, transfers or promotions, appointment shall be made of the applicant with the required knowledge, ability and skills, and where two (2) or more applicants are equally capable of fulfilling the duties of the position, seniority of years of service with the employer shall be the determining factor. Committee Appointments Members of the transfer screening committee and transfer interview committee shall be taken from the general hiring committee.
