Bumping. It is agreed that in instances where a job is eliminated or hours reduced by one hour a day or more, an employee may choose one of the following options: a) an employee may accept the reduction in hours; b) an employee may accept the layoff or reduction in hours and be placed on the casual call in list and be placed on the recall list; c) be placed on the recall list; d) bump a junior employee provided the employee possesses the qualifications, skill and ability to perform the job of the less senior employee. The Employer shall supply to the Employee and the Union a list of all employees that may be bumped by the Employee. Bumping rights must be exercised by providing written notice to the Employer as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours after receiving notification of layoff.
