Common use of Bumping Clause in Contracts

Bumping. ‌ It is agreed that in instances where a job is eliminated, either by automation or change in method of operation, employees affected shall have the right to transfer to a job in line with seniority provided such transfer does not effect a promotion and provided, further, the employee possesses the ability to perform the duties of the new job.
