Common use of CALAMITY DAY Clause in Contracts

CALAMITY DAY. Bargaining unit members shall not be required to report to work when the school(s) are officially closed by the Superintendent due to a calamity. However, all calamity days that exceed the state requirement for minimum number of student hours shall be made up as regular student days. In the event that the district utilizes more than twelve (12) calamity days or the equivalent of seventy-two (72) student hours, the labor management committee will meet to discuss the option of scheduling make up days as regular student days or staff professional development days.
