Category 1 Employee Definition – Employees Hired Prior to January 1, 2017. An active employee is an employee who was hired before January 1, 2017, and is age fifty- five (55) or older with fifteen (15) or more years of service upon termination. A year of service is defined as one thousand (1,000) compensated hours, prorated as applicable, or, if more favorable, as otherwise defined under the rules existing prior to January 1, 2017. On or after January 1, 2017, a year of service is equal to two thousand (2,000) compensated hours, prorated as applicable.

(b) An employee shall be paid an allowance under this clause and under clause 17.05 for a combined period of no more than the number of weeks during which the employee would have been eligible for parental, paternity or adoption benefits under the Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan, had the employee not been disqualified from Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan benefits for the reasons described in subparagraph (a)(i).

  • Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan The Executive shall participate in the Company's Unfunded Pension Plan for Selected Executives (the "SERP").
