Causes of Accidents. The causes of occupational accidents are often multifaceted. Several factors and circumstances can cause an accident. These main risk factors for accidents can be divided into three main categories:  Technology and the environment  Workplace design: There is a need for careful design from cradle to grave, changes can create new dangers  Condition of machinery and equipment, breakdowns, and inadequate safety measures  Noise prevents normal communication and people hear warning sounds  Lighting is important so that people can identify the dangers  Handling and cleaning reduces accidents  Organization and management  The speed of work increases the number of accidents. Accidents at work are common in operational disruptions and maintenanceWorking hours, too long working hours and insufficient rest increase the risk of accidents at work  Vocational training, lack of novice training and knowledge increase the risk of accidents  Individual factors  Gender, men are injured more often than women  Older, younger people are injured more often than others  Work experience and education, unskilled and new employees are most at risk Figure 10 shows a possible accident and the provided solution to prevent danger.

  • Accidents If a death, serious personal injury or substantial property damage occurs in connection with CONTRACTOR’s performance of this Agreement, CONTRACTOR shall immediately notify Mendocino County Risk Manager's Office by telephone. CONTRACTOR shall promptly submit to COUNTY a written report, in such form as may be required by COUNTY of all accidents which occur in connection with this Agreement. This report must include the following information: (1) name and address of the injured or deceased person(s); (2) name and address of CONTRACTOR's sub-contractor, if any; (3) name and address of CONTRACTOR's liability insurance carrier; and (4) a detailed description of the accident and whether any of COUNTY's equipment, tools, material, or staff were involved.

  • Reports of Accidents Within 24 hours after Engineer becomes aware of the occurrence of any accident or other event which results in, or might result in, injury to the person or property of any third person (other than an employee of the Engineer), whether or not it results from or involves any action or failure to act by the Engineer or any employee or agent of the Engineer and which arises in any manner from the performance of this Contract, the Engineer shall send a written report of such accident or other event to the County, setting forth a full and concise statement of the facts pertaining thereto. The Engineer shall also immediately send the County a copy of any summons, subpoena, notice, or other documents served upon the Engineer, its agents, employees, or representatives, or received by it or them, in connection with any matter before any court arising in any manner from the Engineer’s performance of work under this Contract.

  • Causes The contract may be terminated before the stated completion date by any of the following conditions.

  • Acts of God In the event either party is unable to perform its obligations under the terms of this Management Agreement, despite having taken commercially reasonable precautions, because of acts of God, interruption of electrical power or other utilities, equipment or transmission failure or damage reasonably beyond its control, or other causes reasonably beyond its control, such party shall not be liable to the other for any damages resulting from such failure to perform or otherwise from such causes. The Manager and the Trust shall notify each other as soon as reasonably possible following the occurrence of an event described in this subsection.

  • Transportation of Accident Victims Transportation to the nearest physician or hospital for employees requiring medical care as a result of an on-the-job accident shall be at the expense of the Employer.

  • Investigation of Accidents The Occupational Health and Safety Committees, as provided in Clause 22.2, shall be notified of each accident or injury and shall investigate and report to the Union and Employer on the nature and cause of the accident or injury. In the event of a fatality the Employer shall immediately notify the President of the nature and circumstances of the accident.

  • REPORTING OF ACCIDENTS The Contractor shall report to the Engineer details of any accident as soon as possible after its occurrence. In the case of any fatality or serious accident, the Contractor shall, in addition, notify the Engineer immediately by the quickest available means. The Contractor shall also notify the relevant authority whenever the Laws of Kenya require such a report.

  • Fires No open fires are permitted anywhere within the Park except in barbeque grills. These fires must be totally extinguished when not personally attended. Fire extinguishers are required in each mobile home and shall be of a size and capacity approved by the Manager.

  • Accidents and Dangerous Occurrences The Hirer must report all accidents involving injury to the public to a member of the Village Hall management committee as soon as possible and complete the relevant section in the Village Hall’s accident book. Any failure of equipment belonging to the Village Hall or brought in by the Hirer must also be reported as soon as possible. Certain types of accident or injury must be reported on a special form to the local authority. The Hall Secretary will give assistance in completing this form. This is in accordance with the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR).

  • Claims A. To accept HHSC's reimbursement rates as payment in full for the services specified in this Contract to the persons for whom a payment is received, and to make no additional charge to the individual, any member of their family or to any other source for any supplementation for such services, unless specifically allowed by HHSC rules.
