Child Adoption Leave. 8.9.1 The Board of Education may, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, grant an unpaid leave of absence to a unit member for the purpose of adopting a child. This leave request shall be accompanied by written verification of adoption and may be for up to two (2) weeks prior to receiving custody of the child if necessary to fulfill the requirement of the adoption.
