Child Rearing Leave Procedure. Child rearing leave without pay will be granted upon Board approval under the following procedures: All initial applications for child rearing leave shall be made in writing to the Superintendent. Such written requests shall specify the date when the employee wishes to begin or end leave. Under normal conditions, the beginning and end of such leave shall be on a semester basis. However, in emergency situations, leaves could be granted under other arrangements.

Child Rearing Leave Procedure. 1. To facilitate the orderly selection of a replacement, the employee shall inform the District in advance, by submitting a written request to the Superintendent, of the intention to take child-rearing leave as soon as possible, but at least thirty (30) days before the anticipated time the leave is to begin.

  • Child Rearing Leave 7.9.1 A permanent employee, who is the natural or adoptive parent of a child, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the purpose of rearing his/her child for a specified period immediately after convalescence from maternity or immediately after completion of appropriate adoption papers. Such leave shall be for a maximum period of nine (9) months and shall be granted upon giving the District at least four (4) weeks notice prior to the anticipated date on which the leave is to commence.
