Common use of Classification and Reclassification Clause in Contracts

Classification and Reclassification. 14.01 The Employer will give the Union thirty (30) calendar days notice of its intention to eliminate existing classifications as set out in Schedule "A". 14.02 The Employer agrees that when new classifications are created, the rate of pay shall be subject to negotiation between the Employer and the Union. The new rate shall become retroactive to the time the position was first filled by an employee. 14.03 The Employer agrees that, when reclassification of an existing position is identified, any revised rate of pay and effective date shall be subject to negotiation between the Employer and the Union.
