Commencement / Completion of work. Commencement and completion of work is of the essence in the award of this Invitation for Bids. For non-emergency projects, the County Representative will contact the contractor requesting a written work order for proposed projects. The work order shall include mutually agreed upon start date and a completion date. The projects shall be projected out two weeks to include required neighborhood notification of pending work. For emergency projects, the contractor shall coordinate and work closely with the County Representative, maintaining open communication until the project is complete. The project shall be listed on the daily report on the next regular working day daily report and identified as an emergency project. A work order will be utilized at the site during the time of the emergency and signed by the contractor and the County representative. Necessary personnel and equipment shall be made available twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week in case of emergency. It is hereby understood and mutually agreed to by and between parties hereto that the commencement and completion of work is an essential condition of this contract. All work performed, unless authorized by the County’s Project Manager, shall take place during normal working hours, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M., Monday through Friday (to include Routine and Urgent work). When authorized by the County’s Project Manager, emergency call-out services may take place between the hours of 3:31 P.M and 6:59 A.M. Monday through Friday or on Saturdays, Sundays or County holidays (Emergency work).

  • Commencement of Work Engineer shall not commence any field work under this Contract until he/she/it has obtained all required insurance and such insurance has been approved by County. As further set out below, Engineer shall not allow any subcontractor/subconsultant(s) to commence work to be performed in connection with this Contract until all required insurance has been obtained and approved and such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. Approval of the insurance by County shall not relieve or decrease the liability of Engineer hereunder.
