Compensation on Demotion. Any employee who is demoted to a position in a class with a lower salary range shall have his/her salary reduced to the salary level in the range for the lower class which is: a. If a disciplinary demotion, to any designated salary level in the lower range which is at least five percent (5%) less than that received in the salary range for the class from which demoted. A new anniversary date shall be established on the basis of the demotion. b. If a non-disciplinary demotion, to that salary in the dollar amount he/she would have received in that lower class if his/her services had been continuous in said lower class. He/she shall retain his/her current anniversary date.
