Common use of Compensation While on Sabbatical Leave Clause in Contracts

Compensation While on Sabbatical Leave. 8.8.6.1 A unit member while on a full school year sabbatical leave shall receive fifty percent (50%) of the contracted salary he/she would have received had he/she been serving in his/her regular assignment in the District. 8.8.6.2 A unit member on a full one (1) semester leave shall receive fifty percent (50%) of the contracted salary he/she would have received had he/she been in his/her regular assignment in the District. 8.8.6.3 The salary granted the unit member on leave may be paid in either of two ways: a. The salary may be paid in two (2) equal annual installments during the first two (2) years of service rendered in the employment of the Board following the return of the employee from the leave of absence. b. The salary may be paid in the same manner, although not in the same amount, as if the unit member were teaching in the District, upon furnishing, by the unit member, of a suitable bond indemnifying the Board against loss in the event that the unit member fails to render at least two (2) years of service in the District following the return of the unit member from the sabbatical leave.

The salary may be paid in the same manner, although not in the same amount, as if the unit member were teaching in the District, District upon furnishing, by the unit member, of a suitable bond indemnifying the Board against loss in the event that the unit member fails to render at least two (2) years of service in the District following the return of the unit member from form the sabbatical leave.
