Conscientious Objection. 17 The Employer and the Union recognize the rights of individuals to refuse to participate directly in therapeutic abortion procedures. Employees who wish to exercise those rights shall submit their written request to the Employer. The Employer shall honor such requests by making reasonable accommodation, except in an emergency situation, where the immediate nature of the patient’s needs and rights shall take precedence over exercise of the employee’s rights.
