Common use of Critical Family Illness Clause in Contracts

Critical Family Illness. An employee may use sick leave or other paid time off in the event of critical illness or injury to a member of the employee's immediate family other than children under the age of eighteen (18) with a health condition which requires treatment or supervision. Immediate family consists of spouse/domestic partner, children, parents, grandparents, and siblings of the employee or spouse/domestic partner. Critical family illness leave shall be deducted from sick leave or vacation at the employee's option.
